Step by step
How to use this tool
The Hydraulic set uses up to 10 tons of force and a three-die sequence for effortless, repeatable 45 degree double flares. Slide the fitting on before flaring.
Prep the tube
Square-cut the tube, ream the inside and chamfer the outside, then lightly lube the end with clean brake fluid.
Slide the fitting on
Fit the tube nut first, with the threaded end facing outward.
Clamp in the split die
Close the matching split-die halves around the tube with the alignment pins seated, set them in the yoke, and finger-tighten the clamping screw with the tube end just past the die face.
Set the depth (OP0)
Insert the flat OP0 die, close the release knob, and pump the lever until the tube sits flush with the die face, then open the knob.
Form the bubble (OP1)
Swap in the OP1 die, lock the clamping screw tight with the bar, close the knob, and pump until the die meets the die face.
Finish the flare (OP2)
Swap in the conical OP2 die and pump again to fold the finished 45 degree double flare. Open the knob, remove the tube, and inspect.
Tip: always practice on a scrap piece of tubing first, and slide the tube nut onto the line before flaring — a finished flare won't pass back through the nut.

Very fast shipping and a really great price. So far I’ve used it to double flare 3/8” steel tubing but I got it mostly to do push connect fittings. The tool works great and it’s easy to use. I have done four 3/8” steel connect ends with no problems.

It’s a pretty good value pretty easy to use makes adequate flares, especially the bubble flares, which I do not care for I prefer the double inverted 45° flare⚠️️
