Is DOT 3 right for me?
Use the DOT rating your vehicle specifies. DOT 3 mixes with DOT 4 and 5.1 (all glycol-based), but never with DOT 5 (silicone). Fluid absorbs moisture over time and loses boiling point, so flush every two to three years to keep the pedal firm.
