Depending on the tool, straighteners may support steel, stainless and copper tubing, along with copper-nickel brake tubing commonly used for repair and replacement work. Select tubing-prep tools may also be used with aluminum tubing for fabrication or non-brake applications when the tool size and material are appropriate. 

Always match the tool to the outside diameter of the tubing before use. The tool should fit the tubing cleanly without crushing it, binding, or forcing the line through the rollers.
